Goldenbush is a one-woman creative studio in Joshua Tree, CA, and Poolside 1978 is the result of an eight year passion project to re-capture a childhood scent memory.

It’s more than just a fragrance, for me it’s a time machine.
One that takes me right back to long summer days at the pool in the late 70s’, my mother sunbathing while she flips through the latest edition of Harpers Bazaar Magazine. The smell of her tanning gel forming a lifelong association in my mind of that scent with the best days of summer.

Fast forward a few years later to my teenage years; poolside
with my best friends sharing a crumpled metal tube of orange tanning gel; meticulously adjusting our position every hour to maximize our tans.

Our biggest concern in life: tanning lines and how to avoid them.

It is remarkable how a scent can evoke such vivid recollections.
